Sunday services

Our normal pattern of services is shown below, but for now all services are cancelled due to the coronavirus. There are however several services each week streamed or uploaded - please click here. See also the News & Diary page.

We warmly welcome you to join us in any of our services. We aim to make all the worship as accessible as possible for everybody, including those who have not been used to coming to church, but at the same time we aim to avoid anything trite or shallow. Our services centre on the love of God in Jesus.

Music is a mix of traditional hymns with more modern songs and hymns. Where liturgy is used, it is mostly from Common Worship.

The service pattern varies from Sunday to Sunday, as indicated below.

The main Sunday morning service at 10.45am

On the 1st, 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month the service is normally Holy Communion. Prayer for healing and wholeness is often available during the receiving of communion. The 1st Sunday service is aimed to be family-friendly with 'Sunday school' type activities for the children.

The 3rd Sunday is normally Morning Prayer.

On 5th Sundays of the month there is a joint Holy Communion service for the part of the Mission Community that was in the former Dart Valley Mission Community. The location of this service will vary. (When a 5th Sunday is coming up, the Calendar page will tell you where this service is to be held and the time of the service).

Please note that occasionally the main Sunday service takes the form of a joint service with the Methodist Church, either here at 10.45am or at the Methodist Church in Chapel Street, at 10.30am. The Calendar page will tell you where this service will be if there is one in the current or following months.

After the 10.45am service we invite you to stay on for coffee/tea etc in the church lounge.
