From our church treasurer

St Luke’s is being used at the moment as the main resource and crisis centre for the community response team. Tom and Laura are coordinating the delivery of food and medicines in support of people self-isolating, liaising with the Town Council and Surgery, managing the volunteers and taking part in manning the helpline.

The Foodbank is being well supported, both by grants from Teignbridge DC and Dartmoor National Park and many individual donations. However, the same cannot be said for St Luke’s itself. Without St Luke’s there would be no Foodbank, as all Trussell Trust Foodbanks are run by churches.

We have no income from Bookings now, no Service collections week by week, and of course no prospect of fundraising. We still have bills to pay. If you would like to help there are several ways.

You can write a cheque to “Buckfastleigh PCC” and send it to the Treasurer, Janet McLellan,
127 Oaklands Park, Buckfastleigh TQ11 0BW.

Or you can do a bank transfer to Lloyds Bank, sort code 30-90-89, account no: 39165768.

If you would like to contribute regularly to the work of St Luke’s, you can join the Parish Giving
Scheme, which claims Gift Aid when appropriate, and adds it to the contribution. Just ring 0333
002 1271 to join the scheme, quoting our PGS Code 151503471.

All contributions, large or small, will be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
